List of Medications Used to Treat COVID-19 Patients Published

The sixth edition of the Interim Guidelines for the Treatment of COVID-19 Patients also lists medications used under medical supervision.

It should be noted that the development team of this manual included well-known scientists of the country, as well as physicians who are directly involved in the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection, in particular, resuscitators and other narrow specialty doctors.

Professor Habibullo Akilov, MD, member of the Unit for Fighting against Coronavirus under the Ministry of Health, gave detailed information on the medications prescribed for the treatment of patients:

For those who communicate with patients:

  • Hydroxychloroxine (should not be taken by pregnant women, children, patients over 65, patients with cardiovascular diseases).

When the disease is asymptomatic:

  • Hydroxychloroxine (by a doctor’s order);
  • Zinc preparations;
  • Vitamin D;
  • Vitamin C.

For mild COVID-19:

  • Paracetamol;
  • Ibuprofen;
  • Favipiravir;
  • Hydroxychloroxine;
  • Zinc;
  • Vitamin D;
  • Vitamin C;
  • Naphazoline, Xylometazoline (for the nose, in the treatment of rhinorrhea);
  • Azithromycin (by a doctor’s order).

For moderate severity of COVID-19:

  • Paracetamol;
  • Ibuprofen;
  • Favipiravir or remdesivir;
  • Anticoagulants (Enoxaparin);
  • Antiplatelet agents (acetylsalicylic acid);
  • Corticosteroids (dexamethasone);
  • Antibiotics (by a doctor’s order).

For severe COVID-19:

  • Paracetamol;
  • Ibuprofen;
  • Remdesivir;
  • Anticoagulants (Enoxaparin);
  • Antiplatelet agents (acetylsalicylic acid);
  • Corticosteroids (dexamethasone);
  • Cephalosporins + macrolides;
  • Parenteral acetylcysteine ​​and others.

For acute respiratory distress syndrome:

  • Anticoagulants (Enoxaparin);
  • Antiplatelet agents (acetisalicylic acid);
  • Corticosteroids (dexamethasone);
  • Parenteral acetylcysteine;
  • Omeprazole, Ranitidine and others.

For sepsis and septic shock:

  • N2 receptor antagonists or proton pump inhibitors (ranitidine, omeprazole);
  • Corticosteroids (dexamethasone);
  • Prokinetic medications (Metoclopramide, Domperidone, Erythromycin) and others.

REMINDER!

Prescribing chloroxin and hydroxychloroxine (+/- azithromycin) to children, pregnant women, patients with cardiac arrhythmias, as well as prescribing antiviral medications (lopinavir / ritonavir, remdesivir, umifodizavir, tumifodizabir), immunomodulators (interferon-1a-2b) interferon and immunostimulating medications, metabolic medications to other patients for prophylactic use and treatment are not recommended.

ATTENTION!

Regardless of the degree of the disease, each medication must be taken on the recommendation of a doctor and under his/her supervision. The use of droppers for patients undergoing treatment at home is strictly prohibited.
