What Quantity of Medications Can Citizens Bring from Abroad for Personal Use?

In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No.191 of June 8, 2016 ‘On approval of the Regulation on the procedure for taking into the country of medications for personal use by individuals’, the citizens are allowed to take into the country for personal use the following amount of medicines, without a prescription from a medical institution at the country of stay or residence:

  • medicines with up to 10 drugs of different names and no more than 5 packages for each of them;
  • no more than 5 units of medical products.

In one package:

  • solid dosage forms (tablets, pills, granules, powders, capsules) - no more than 100 units;
  • powders used to prepare the solution - no more than 500 grams;
  • homeopathic preparations in granule - no more than 50 grams;
  • infusion solutions and solutions for oral administration - no more than 500 milliliters;
  • solutions for injections - no more than 10 ampoules or 10 vials;
  • preparations for external use - no more than 200 milliliters or 200 grams.

Medicines and medical products must be in the manufacturer’s packaging. When taking into and taking out the country the medications in excess of the above, individuals must submit to the customs authorities a document issued to a specific individual, indicating the name of the medicine, its dosage form and the amount recommended for the course of treatment from the medical institution of the country of stay or residence.

Taking into or taking out the country of limited quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in a box with drugs on international sea (river) ships, aircraft is carried out without a license in accordance with the control measures established by the legislation of the state of registration of the relevant vehicles.
