The State Pharmacopoeia

The State Pharmacopoeia is an official edition collecting documents containing requirements for medicines and medical devices, general pharmacopoeia monographs, pharmacopoeia monographs and methods of quality control of medicines and medical devices.

The General Pharmacopoeia Monograph establishes general requirements for the quality of medicines, medical devices, medicinal plant raw materials, methods for controlling their quality, standard samples, reagents used in quality control of medicines, packaging materials used in the production of medicines.

A pharmacopoeia monograph establishes the quality requirements for a specific medicine, medical device, medicinal plant raw material, and excipient.

The development of general pharmacopoeia monographs, pharmacopoeia monographs and their inclusion in the State Pharmacopoeia is carried out in the manner established by the Pharmacopoeia Committee. The Pharmacopoeia Committee is the official expert group of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The State Pharmacopoeia is published by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan at least once every five years. In the period between reprints of the State Pharmacopoeia, supplements to the State Pharmacopoeia are published.
