Tashkent hosted the "Uzbekistan-Iran Science and Innovation Forum" organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technologies of Iran
On July 20 of this year, the "Uzbekistan-Iran Science and Innovation Forum" was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technologies of Iran. The forum was organized within the framework of Vice-President for Science and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sorena Sattori's visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Representatives of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry participated in the forum too.
The Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrahim Abdurahmanov, spoke in the forum with his opening remarks. He noted the innovative development strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Innovative Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, approved by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan this month, is a strategic document aimed at unifying the efforts of state bodies and organizations in the field of innovative development. "As a result of implementing this document, the country's competitiveness will increase," noted he.
Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sorena Sattori, has also made a speech on the relative matters of cooperation.
In Iran, responsible tasks such as applying innovations to various sectors of the economy, supporting scientific projects, commercializing the results of scientific research, and forming a startup ecosystem are carried out with great success.
It is essential to note that the scientific-technical and innovative cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has been developing consistently over the years. The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of science and technology, signed between our countries this year, serves to expand relations in bio- and nanotechnologies, pharmaceuticals, information and communications, agriculture, and many other scientific fields.
As part of this forum, an exhibition of products of innovative companies and startups of Uzbekistan and Iran was held at the Ministry of Innovative Development. Enterprises and organizations of the two countries participated in the exhibition with their innovative products. Thirty-five leading innovative companies from Iran, operating in medicine, animal husbandry, food, and various other fields, participated with their innovative products and projects.
In the meantime, business representatives of the two countries held "B2B" meetings within the framework of the exhibition. ''B2B'' discussions were to strengthen cooperation between the business people of Uzbekistan and Iran and to establish mutually beneficial relations in such areas as agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine and pharmaceuticals, information technology, and the food industry.
