The Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency together with USAID agency, is implementing a project to Diversifying the Asia Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (DAPSC)

The Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency held a meeting with the USAID Agency (USA) to discuss project of the Diversifying Asian Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (DAPSC) aimed at reducing demand for imported products in Uzbekistan.
DAPSC is an upcoming new USAID project aimed at supporting the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan to develop the pharmaceutical industry. DAPSC will be implemented with the technical assistance of the USAID program "Promotion of Drug Quality Plus" (PQM+). DAPSC has two goals:
Goal 1: Strengthen local capacity in:
1) competitive production;
2) procurement;
3) control and regulation systems;
4) development of technologies and
5) labor force for the production of medical products of guaranteed quality.
This goal will potentially contribute to:
• Increase of competitive production capabilities for the production of high-quality, new products;
• Procurement support from preferred sources with quality assurance.
• Strengthening governance and optimizing the regulatory system;
• Research and development of promising technologies;
• Develop the workforce for the future labor market.
Goal 2: Increase the business readiness and commercial viability of the local pharmaceutical industry to attract investment.
This goal will potentially contribute to:
• Promoting the attractiveness of local pharmaceutical companies to investors.
• Assistance in the development of public financing incentives for the industry.
The project is planned to continue until the end of December this year.
