Indian Avantika Medex Ready to Invest in Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry

These days, the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency has held a meeting with representatives of Avantika Medex Pvt Ltd, India, during which issues of cooperation were discussed, in particular, the further implementation of agreements on the construction of a pharmaceutical enterprise.

Alisher Temirov, Deputy Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, informed the guests about the main tasks in the activities of the Agency, as well as the investment attractiveness of the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan, in particular about the advantages in the implementation of investment projects in pharmaceutical free zones and clusters.

For his part, Mr. Lalbabu Singh, Director of Avantika Medex Pvt Ltd, presented the company’s activities and noted that for many years the company has occupied one of the leading positions in the Indian market in the production of medicines and has sufficient experience in the sale of pharmaceutical products.

It is known that a grandiose project got started this year in Tashkent region -construction of Tashkent Pharma Park Pharmaceutical Cluster. Sanjar Babadjanov, acting Director of this pharmaceutical cluster, attended the meeting and informed the Indian side about the conditions and benefits created for the pharmaceutical cluster actors.

“Given the favorable investment climate in Uzbekistan, Avantika Medex intends to localize a project for the production of demanded import-substituting medicines. The estimated volume of investment is about 10 million USD,” said Mr. Lalbabu Singh, expressing his interest in cooperation.

Following the negotiations, representatives of the company planned to visit the territory of Tashkent Pharma Park Cluster to get acquainted and select a location for this project. The parties agreed to develop a network schedule for the implementation of the project. The visit of Avantika Medex Company’s representatives to Uzbekistan continues.
