Uzbek-Indian Relations in Pharmaceutical Sector Discussed
Strengthening bilateral relations in the pharmaceutical sector, the place and role of Indian pharmaceutical companies and enterprises in the Uzbek market, as well as issues related to the vaccine against coronavirus and Ayurveda medicines were discussed at the meeting of Sardor Kariev, Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency and H.E. Mr. Manish Prabhat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, initiated by the Indian side, the Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency drew the guest’s attention to the investment attractiveness of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan, as well as the growing interest of foreign investors in the implementation of pharmaceutical projects in our country.
For his part, Ambassador Manish Prabhat expressed interest in partnering for the production and localization of vaccines against COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed on the further development of relations and the continuation of cooperation regarding the involvement of Indian companies interested in the production of vaccines, and also agreed on a detailed study of issues of interest to both parties.
