Experts Discussed the Prospects for Cooperation between Uzbek and Israeli Pharmaceutical Companies  

 

For the purpose of discussing the prospects for establishing partnership with Israeli pharmaceutical companies, a video conferencing was organized this February 16 with the participation of the leadership and chief specialists of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, the Chairperson of the Association of Representative Offices of Foreign Pharmaceutical Companies and Manufacturers in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Israel, as well as the chairperson of the Pharmaceutical Association of Israel, the head of International Relations Department of the Manufacturers Association of Israel and representatives of a number of pharmaceutical companies.

Dilshod Akbarov, First Deputy Director of the Agency, informed the Israeli side about the dynamically developing pharmaceutical industry and the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He also emphasized the convenient location of the Republic for exporting to neighboring countries. He especially noted the importance of relations and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Israel in the pharmaceutical sector.

The Israeli side was also familiarized with the GMP standards exercised in the pharmaceutical industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and with the investment potential of the pharmaceutical industry and the current state of all pharmaceutical economic zones of the country.

The head of the Israeli Kamada Company expressed a desire to conduct clinical trials of a vaccine against COVID-19 together with Uzbek partners.

“I would like to note the high interest and readiness of the Israeli side to cooperate in the pharmaceutical sector. Many questions were asked about our economic zones, about the preferences provided to foreign investors and medicinal herbs that our country is rich in,” Rakhima Madraimova, head of the International Relations and Investment Promotion Department, said.

Following the video conferencing, the parties expressed their readiness for close cooperation and further development of relations.
