Comparison of medical measuring instruments - the guarantee of safe treatment and accurate diagnosis
Protection of public health, provision of quality medical services, and formation of a healthy lifestyle, especially among young people, is one of the priority tasks in our country.
The role of medical measuring devices in the process of diagnosis and treatment by doctors in restoring health is incomparable due to the proper functioning of this equipment being very crucial.
Specialists of the Comparison Laboratory of the State Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medicines, Medical Products, and Medical Equipment are carrying out several works on periodic testing of all types of medical equipment with fine measuring functions.
In particular, as per request of medical associations, experts of the Comparison Laboratory compared 3097 pieces of medical measuring instruments from 2021 to this day in 2022, based on the applications received by 310 treatment and prevention institutions, of which 2886 pieces were certified as suitable (Comparison Certificates) and 211 as unfit (Notices ) was formalized.
Also, the experts of the Comparison Laboratory gave instructions to the responsible staff of the treatment and prevention institutions about re-repairing or reusing the medical measuring devices found to be unusable and of poor quality.
To look back, On February 15, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers released a decision No. 112 "On measures to improve the metrological control of laboratory and diagnostic equipment used in medicine" which is aimed at improving the quality of functional research in the laboratory, developing metrological supply, providing technical services for medical equipment, and based on improving the testing system increasing the efficiency, and safety of providing medical services to the population.
Following this document many tasks were assigned to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries, agencies with medical institutions, and private medical organizations.
In particular, the above-mentioned organizations should ensure metrological control of medical equipment with measuring functions, periodical testing of medical equipment, and training personnel responsible for metrological maintenance of medical equipment and its technical service.
