As you know, a strategy for the development of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory system in Uzbekistan is being developed within the framework of the PQM+ (Medication Quality Improvement Plus) project implemented by the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the US Pharmacopoeia.

On March 7, 2024, a discussion of situational analysis conclusions and preliminary recommendations was held in the agency with the participation of representatives of large organisations within the framework of this strategy.

The workshop, which focused on the topic of "Enhancing pharmaceutical manufacturing," consisted of two sessions. The first session saw representatives from key organisations such as the Centre for Pharmaceutical Safety, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Pharmaceutical Technical University, the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, Asaka Bank, and Uzmedimpex. In the second session, representatives from international organisations such as USAID, WHO, the World Bank, UNICEF, and IPOP participated. During the seminar, an analysis of the market situation was conducted, and strategic frameworks for the years 2024–2029 were presented.

Following the event, representatives from the organisations expressed their opinions on the strategy and reached agreements on further steps.
