Investment Attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry Presented to Japanese Companies

The Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency jointly with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan and UNIDO ITPO in Tokyo organized 17 June 2020 an online seminar on the theme ‘Investment Attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry and Opportunities for Japanese Companies’.

This event brought together more than 100 representatives of various leading organizations of Japan, including NEC, Saisan Co., Ltd., Sysmex, Japan Conservation Engineers & Co. Ltd., Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Oshima Management Institute, Cokey Systems, Uniques Inc., Japan Conservation Engineers & Co. Ltd., J&E Partners, Japan Industrial Development Consultants, Horiba Ltd., Toyo University, ASKA Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Nisso Shoji Co., Ltd., Jag Energy Co. Ltd., Sumitomo Corporation.

The representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan, management and leading specialists of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency – from the Uzbek side. Alisher Temirov, Deputy Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, opened the seminar with welcome speech.

In his opening speech, the head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, Mr. Yukoyasunaga, also welcomed the participants and made emphasis on high interest of the Japanese companies in investing in the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan.

At the webinar, Alisher Temirov, UzPharmAgency’s Deputy Director, made a presentation on the theme ‘Investment Attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry’. Within the online seminar the sides also exchanged information and representatives of the Japanese companies received detailed answers on their questions.

Crowning the videoconference meeting, Gayrat Fazilov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan, stressed out the high mutual interest of the two sides in establishing firm ties in the pharmaceutical industry. At the end, the webinar participants agreed to continue sharing information and holding regular online meetings, workshops and discussions on pressing issues.
