The Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency held 17 June 2020 a video conference call with representatives of the pharmaceutical industry of Malaysia in order to discuss the prospects for partnership with Malaysian pharmaceutical companies aiming the development of bilateral cooperation in the field. The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia acted a co-organizer of the event.

Ravshan Usmanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Malaysia made a welcoming speech and briefly acquainted the participants with the agenda.

President of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society A. Buang, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia A. Pal, and President of the Malaysian Association of Pharmaceutical Suppliers L. Chuan made presentations on the theme ‘Activities and prospects for cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry’.

In his turn, Alisher Temirov, Deputy Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan, provided the video conference participants with information on the pharmaceutical potential of Uzbekistan as well as the favorable conditions created for the pharmaceutical industry, including in the country’s free economic zones. He also made focus on the prospects for cooperation with Malaysian pharmaceutical companies.

As part of the event, the sides exchanged the necessary information and the representatives of the Malaysian companies received detailed answers to their questions. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to conduct videoconferences with manufacturers of pharmaceutical products in Malaysia, and further developing the mutually beneficial ties.
